Please CONTACT US with any questions you may have.
File Transmission: To request an FTP account, please contact your project manager.
PC User: Logon with your private username and password here
Mac User: Use a FTP Client program to access ftp.coylerepro.com

We recommend that all jobs over 2MB are submitted via a private FTP account. If you would like to email a job, please compress the file before emailing.

Platform: Macintosh
Disk Formats: DVD, CD’s, Jaz, Floppy
Application: Build in Quark Xpress or Adobe InDesign 2 with all elements imported at 100% Adobe Illustrator 8
(version 9 or 10-must call prior to submitting), Macromedia Freehand 8, 9, 10
Document Size: Screen Printing: Build file 1/4 size at 300 PPI or full size at 150 PPI. D-MAX: 280% except on solid black
background – please use 40% yellow, 60% cyan, 60% magenta, with 100% black GCR:
Coyle requires all subject matter be reproduced with Dominant Black where applicable.
Digital: (High Resolution) Build file 1/4 size, 300PPI, D-MAX 280%
Bleed: Build files with additional bleed on all 4 sides of files that trim to color bleed. 1/8” is OK for both Screen
& Digital products. Include crop marks with labels for Margin Borders, Bleed Borders, Trim and intended
View area when displayed. (Cloning is available if necessary at an additional charge.)
Support Graphics: All support files must be created at 100% of import size. Most graphics are built using Illustrator or
Freehand. Attributes for individual files set at min 800ppi output resolution. Photoshop bitmap graphics
built at min 600ppi.
Scans: Minimum resolution 150 to 300 PPI @ 100% of import size TIFF format is preferred. Include ALL linked
scans/files. Scans must be saved in CMYK format. (RGB format can cause unwanted results when
converted to CMYK). Avoid embedding scans into Illustrator & Freehand documents. Jobs containing
embedded EPS files may require extra RIP time and therefore, additional costs.
Scitex: Projects created with files from the Scitex environment may not be usable and will definitely require
extra work, added time and expense for the project.
Color: Screen Printing: D-MAX approx. 260-280% (solid black areas require undercolor: 60%Cyan, 60%
Magenta, 40% Yellow). Apply GCR dominant black to neutral gray areas that consist of Cyan, Magenta
& Yellow. D-MIN 3-4% of desired color.
Digital Printing: D-MAX 280% Apply GCR to files with color critical areas of neutral gray and silver tones.
Fonts: Supply all post script printer and screen fonts or true type fonts.
Proofs: Proofing with files built to the specifications above will provide the best results on press.
Screen Printing: contract/analog proof must accompany furnished disk (except when Coyle handles
color. An OK-signed laser for layout & content must accompany all files on disk.) Accepted proofs
include: Imation Matchprint, Fuji Colorart, Dupont Waterproof, Kodak Approval and *Agfa Pressmatch.
(*Not preferred) Supply color proofs on appropriate substrate best matching your selected print stock.
Proofs made on yellow stock tend to change overall color and may make obtaining approved color
impossible on press. (Not accepted as contract proofs include: Inkjet, Dye-Sublimation or Color Lasers).
Digital Printing: Coyle provides one calibrated digital proof for color approval. Any additional color proofs
and changes are billable. An ok-signed proof or laser for layout & content must accompany disk.
